Throughout the novel, Aminata gets married and has a family of her own. Although she is withdrawn from her family, she is somehow brought back together with one of her children and her husband. What does this tell you about Love and Loyalty?
Aminata believed that she would reunite with her daughter and husband. So in the book I think it shows that love can conquer all. What I think the book shows about loyality is Aminata does not give up on finding her husband or child through out the book.Even if many years past she contiunes looking for them.
I agree with Bara'a. Aminata really had the love for her family, so if one can find love for something/someone, then love will over power them and guide them to wherever they would want. Love was the ultimate solution as to why Aminata was able to reunite with her family again. She is still maintaining her loyal character in her hopes to find her family again as she strongly believes she would be able to see them one day. Overall, she has a strong determintation, which is why succeeds in reuniting with her family.
I guess it means that as long as your love stays strong and pure nothing can come in the way of it.
Sure your love will face hardships, just like Aminata did when Chekura kept going away and when May was taken away. But as long as the love continues to stay there and grows, those hardships will pass and a day of light will come. Just like the day May came back.
I agree with Kamal. Throughout the book, Aminata's love and loyalty did not waver while she was searching for her family. She is very strong when it comes to love and loyalty, and when she is tested through hardships, she still bounces back and does whatever she can to find them. I really like Aminata for that because it shows she is a very strong character through her determination, and she never stops being that way.
What this tells me about love and loyalty is that it never ends. I agree with everyone’s comments, Aminata does not experience how a family should really be. Her loved ones are always taken away from her, but she always gets someone back. When the people around her tell her to give up on searching for her loved ones, she does not lose hope. When she is in Nova Scotia, Aminata is waiting for Chekura. Everyone tells her to give up on him, but she believes he would have come if he could have. She does not give up; the only thing that could have kept Chekura away from his love would be death. It was death that kept him away. That is probably the only thing that can keep love away; she lost her son and her husband because of it. But she had May in the end because she returned; nothing could have kept her away.
I Agree With Everyone comments so far. Aminata always had tremendous hope that she would eventually find May her daughter and in the end they are reunited. I believe her love wasn't only for her family but also for her homeland. To get back to her village was one of the main reasons that kept her going through her journey. She had so much love and loyalty for her village, this is what gave her hope.
I agree with Mahamed, i also think that Aminata had hope and faith that one day she would be able to return back to her homeland where she was contented with her surroundings which made her feel as though she could relate to things that are going on in the country as well as the people around her. Going back to her homeland would give her a brand new start where she could start from fresh and live the life she always imagined.
I also believe that although Aminata is strong when it comes to love and loyalty, the reason for her fate is because she had a stong will for her goal. She always believed that she would be able to rejoice with her family, and since she believed that and put that in her mind, she was able to accomplish that goal. If you believe you can set out to accomplish a goal, as long as you put your head into it, you can do it.
Aminata reuniting with her family signifies the importance of love and loyalty in one's life. I agree that when you have unconditional, true love for someone you find the extra push of motivation to go on. Especially when you are separated from your loved ones (which is a common occurence in classic stories) like Aminata, you will always find a way to survive/succeed whatever the circumstances may be.
love and loyalty are like two sides of a coin. You can't have one without the other. Aminata is a strong willed individual who has gone through unspeakable horrors, but still she is devoted to fulfilling her dreams. And in so doing she gains the adimration of those around her.
love and loyalty never ends. aminata's love for her children and for her husband is a part of the major reason why she thrives to survive. if it wasnt for her children and her husband that i dont think she would relli have much of a reason to live. when Chekura was gone for a long period of time it showed that aminata really loved and is loyal to him
This tells me that love is a powerful thing. Aminata's determination and hope was so strong that nothing could get in the way of her finding her family once again. I think Aminata is also loyal because she had her mind set on finding her family and never gave up or forgot abut them.
This shows that Aminata's optimism and will power fueled her love for her family and her homeland. This inevitably indicates that the love one has for family is unconditional and unexplainable. Thus this love eventually reunited her with her family.
